Meet The Stars Behind Bright Stars Learning Academy

Get to know the dedicated educators who fill every day at Bright Stars Learning Academy with patience, care, and passion for learning. Each member of our team plays a unique role in creating an enriching educational environment that fosters your child’s growth and development.

Mrs. Kayla

Bright Stars Teacher and Director

As the Director of the Bright Stars program, and 5 years teaching in a Bright Stars classroom, I am dedicated to fostering the growth of young minds in all areas of their development. My goal is to ensure every child receives proper learning, independency, and social skills while creating a positive and engaging environment where children feel safe, curious, and confident.

I enjoy reading and music, and I am a proud mom of three beautiful girls.

Mrs. Amari

Pre-K teacher and Camp Director

I have gratefully been with OSEGA for 8 years, and apart of Bright Stars Pre-K for 5 years. I have a deep passion for children and love watching them grow into their own unique personalities. In the classroom, I prioritize a supportive atmosphere that encourages self-expression and a genuine love for learning.

I have a bachelors degree in child psychology while continuing my education at UNC Asheville. In my free time, I enjoy family, traveling, singing, and coffee 🙂

Mrs. Jenni

Pre-K spanish teacher and after school director

I am so grateful for the opportunity to be apart of the early development stages in each child’s pre-school journey here at Bright Stars. Following my passion to work with children of all ages, I am also a teacher for the elementary after school program, spending my morning with the “littles”, and my afternoons with the “bigs” 🙂

Having two of my own, has taught me patience and understanding that every child learns and develops at their own pace. My goal is to allow students to navigate through their own feelings and growth, with my guidance of positive instruction.

Tiny tots teacher and afternoon care provider

I enjoy spending my afternoons with the after care kids as they burn off their built up energy from preschool 😉 Being apart of these children’s lives is more than just a job. It requires building a trusted connection with each child, and adapting to their individual needs.

I have two children of my own, and am grateful they can be apart of this program to connect with others in such a positive and fun environment.

Bright stars assistant and Garden leader

Gardening is an excellent way to foster vital life skills and support children’s mental well-being through digging, planting, and mindful observation.

As an avid home gardener, I love sharing the therapeutic and educational value of growing food with our pre schoolers.

Mrs. Brittany

Gym manager

It has been a privilege to work at OSEGA for 13 years, as a coach, a teacher, a leader, but most importantly a guiding light for children of all ages.

Watching youth discover the world around them and overcome their own personal challenges is a reward in its own. My goal is to offer a safe space for all ages, by showing love, patience, and guidance.

My support to the children, staff, and parents is always available.
